Martin Kaymer looks for another victory at BMW Championship – European Tour News
World’s top ranked player Martin Kaymer from Germany has already gained much popularity around the world. Now he will once again feature in a European Tour event. He has confirmed his participation in the BMW PGA Championship which will commence from next month.
The total prize money sanctioned for the four day event is €4,500,000. This will surely be attracting the top ranked players in the world also. The four day championship will be played at the West Course in Surrey. It was be exciting to watch all these top ranked players from Europe compete against each other.
Kaymer has already won a European Tour event this year. He won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship earlier this year. It was simply amazing to watch the German play such superb golf. He won by a good margin of eight strokes over Rory McIlroy, his nearest opponent.
Now, the world number one has set his eyes on winning his 10th European Tour event. He already has been impressive as he is the current PGA Championship winner.
The 26-year-old has a total of seventeen victories playing as a professional in his career. Now, he is all ready to add another one to his total. Last year, Kaymer was also the winner of Race to Dubai.
Kayer will be a part of the probables from the BMW Championship next month.
His compatriot European Tour members and major winners will also be competing in this event. Graeme McDowell, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel will also highlight their presence in the championship.
The young German is now a day’s practicing hard on his game as he didn’t play well in the Masters. Once again, he failed to make it through the cutline score at Augusta National where the Masters was held.
About the West Course, Kaymer said, “I just love it here. The whole place is so classy and the whole of Wentworth has a wonderful feel to it. It is definitely one of my goals to win at Wentworth and, seeing the course like it is today, I can definitely envisage myself walking up the 18th fairway on the Sunday to get my hands on the trophy. I have always enjoyed coming here – in fact I used to watch the tournament on television and it was always a fantastic field.”
Kaymer always has enjoyed playing some competitive golf throughout his young career. He loves the weather conditions in European countries. Kaymer knows that it will be a tough outing for the world number one to compete against the best in Europe.
The competition in BMW Championship will be a cut throat one. Many players from Europe look forward to this event as the prize money is a lucrative one.
The German also claimed that Europe is producing the top players. These players like Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland and Matteo Manassero of Italy will surely emerge as the best in the world as they play more and more events.
The 26-year-old is confident that he will through and wins the championship. Although, it will be a challenge for him to win but he has high hopes.
