Martin Kaymer will play the BMW PGA Championship
Martin Kaymer is joining the field of BMW PGA Championship, as he will be facing tough rivals from May 24 to 27, 2012.
The 27-year-old German professional golf player is exited and confident for the upcoming European Tour event at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England.
He is not the only player to aim high for the tournament. The field also contains famous professionals like Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood.
Hence, Kaymer has to deliver his best in England, so that he can win the first event in the current season of 2012.
“Obviously this is the biggest tournament that we play on The European Tour. I've done fairly okay in the past,” Kaymer said. “It's a world-class field, a lot of guys from America came over. It's nice that Luke and Rory, they are here. There are a lot of
World Ranking points. So it's a very big week and important week for us”.
He has been performing well since January. He has played eight events in total and recorded three top-10 finishes.
He started the season in Abu Dhabi and was unable to compete against the world dominating golf stars. He finished on the 103rd position there and planned to be impressive in the upcoming events.
He then moved to Qatar and played the Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy. His putting and strokes were amazing there. He recorded 9th leaderboard finish and grabbed the spectators' attentions as well.
Later, he displayed an amazing performance at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and competed well throughout the tournament. He scored an 11-under 277 in Dubai and recorded the highest scoring of the current year.
He also played the WGC - Accenture Match Play Championship in February and earned €106,076 in total. His performance at the European Tour Maybank Malaysian Open is the most important, as he finished on the 7th position, the best finish of the year so far.
Now, Kaymer is gearing up for another mega event in England, hoping to amaze the spectators and his worldwide fans.
His performance is satisfactory. If he does his best on the course, then he can become the proud winner of the title.
