Martin Kaymer wishes to repeat history at the BMW International Open this week, the 27-year-old is the best German golfer till date!
The BMW International Open kicks off this week with one man who is destined to prove himself as the next big thing.
Martin Kaymer is one of the most promising golfers of the new era. He has proven his magnificence in a very short time in his professional career as a golfer.
The 27-year-old German has felt the glory of the world number one spot in 2011, after he finished runner-up at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.
Kaymer turned professional in 2005 with a brilliant start. He has a total of 18 professional victories to his name, which include 10 European Tour wins.
His first and only major championship victory was at the 2010 PGA Championship. In the same year, the 27-year-old received the 2010 European Tour Golfer of the Year award.
Last week’s US Open saw him finishing at the 15th position which was impressive. Names like Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy failed to do so with their exits from the US Open.
It was in 2008 when Kaymer won the BMW International Open with a stunning performance. He was an under-dog in the tournament but came back as a champion. It was indeed a sight when Kaymer lifted the BMW International Open trophy at the age of 24.
After his US Open form, the young star is ready to take on the 2012 BMW International Open and looks promising.
It is a time where a legend like Tiger Woods has fallen short and the new generation of golfers is surfacing with more precision and technique than any other generation of golfers that has been witnessed in the past.
The course has given advantage to the German golfer as the tournament is taking place in his home ground of Germany and will be played on Gut Larchenhof, a course that has been designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.
The German appears excited and is delighted to play in his own country.
“It'll be great for my friends and family to come along, because I only live 20 minutes away from the course, and it'll also be great for me to sleep in my own bed, which is very rare at a tournament,” said Kaymer.
The young German is crafting his career to a level where he will be considered as the best golfer that ever came out of Germany. It would be a pleasure watching Kaymer play in his country at the BMW International Open this week.
