Martin Keown wants Arsenal to keep Arsene Wenger – but wants him to reassess his tactics

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has gone on to state that he wants Arsene Wenger to remain at the Emirates, as he is the perfect man for the job. However, having said that, he went on to add that it was high time that the manager started rethinking his tactics, since what he had in mind at the moment, just wasn’t working out for either party.
Keown, when talking about the Gunners defeat and Wenger, is quoted to have written:“There is no magic wand to make everything OK in a few days”
“Six of the 11 who beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 weren't available against United because they'd either left, were injured or suspended. “
“Arsenal have to rip it all up and start again, but Wenger is, without doubt, the man for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.”
Keown then went on to turn his attention to Arsenal’s summer spending and refereed to the biggest signings that the club had made so far.
“The last time Arsenal spent big was in 2009 when they signed Andrey Arshavin for £16.5million. Before that you have to go back to 2000 and the £13m paid for Sylvain Wiltord.”
Arsenal were previously linked with a move for Scott Parker, but based on recent developments, it seems like Tottenham might just end up landing the highly talented midfielder instead. Keown feels that should http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 miss out on the signing of Parker, then it would be a great loss for the team.
He went on to stated that Wenger won’t agree to the signing of Parker, but the midfielder could prove to be just what the team need.
“Arsene Wenger won't necessarily agree, because Parker doesn't fit the Arsenal mould as he's not especially technically gifted” He then went on to highlight the positive aspects of landing someone like Parker, as he could act like a mentor to the youngsters at the club and help them develop even further than they already have.
“A Scott Parker-type recruit would be good. He is someone http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 team-mate and he would help lift the younger man' s performances.”
With the transfer window set to close within the next forty eight hours, the time for Wenger to change his policy and step his game up is here. The manager really needs to act smartly, as his decisions would not only determine Arsenal’s career, but it would also determine how his legacy at Arsenal will be remembered forever.
All in all, it seems like Wenger is finally set to face his greatest test as the Gunners manager.
