have a dram? One of my Guatemalan cleaners thinks that he might have been Welsh, which of course is nonsense! (I have today fired her from upstairs duties).

But was Mr King's rhetorical style more like the Welsh ballad tradition, or the southern USA tradition of lyrical speechifying?

  1. Martin Luther King was an African-American.

I think you've had a few drams yourself tonight...

  2. According to documentation readily available over the Internet, the American Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King's paternal grandfather, James King (1864-1933), was of Irish African ancestry.

Question: Just how many ethnic groups can you insult in one politically incorrect posting?

  3. My goodness, talk about variations on a theme.

Had a dram or two yourself, bud?

Let's see, so far I've seen you do the "anti-immigrant racist" thing, the "admirer of the black civil rights leader" thing, the drunk, the sober, the addled, the brilliant, the rich man, the fool, the fashion consultant to Asian women...

How many personalities have you GOT?  Are any of them true?

  4. Which one? The one who started the Reformation? He was German.  Or the Civil Rights leader?  He was American.  Any more questions? Then step away from the keyboard, buddy.
