Sunderland failed to make it to the F.A Cup semi finals as they lost their quarterfinal tie to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 by two goals to nil in the reply between the two teams. It was Everton who outplayed the Black Cats and gained a historic place
in the final four teams of the F.A Cup where they are scheduled to take on Liverpool in a massive semi-final tie between the two Merseyside clubs.
David Moyes will hope that his team can win against their local rivals but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 will be looking to a place in the final where they can hopefully clinch their second trophy of a season that has been disappointing so far.
Martin O’Neill said in his recent comments, "Everton were better than us. They deserved to win the game. We didn't perform well enough - we didn't perform at all, and that's really disappointing. We were ready for the night and
to see the sort of atmosphere just before kick-off, the noise level, was something we should experience more often here at the Stadium of Light.”
He added, "It was a great evening, a great night for football and we disappointed. There was high expectation, of course, having done so well to get here, to have forced the replay, to have come back here to the Stadium of Light
where, outside of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, who got a couple of late goals on us, we have done pretty well.”
The Sunderland manager further stated, "But it doesn't matter whether you are home or away, you have to perform, you have to be able to pass it, you have to be able to control it, you have to be able to do those things under pressure,
and we didn't do it well enough."
