Martin Rogan aiming Tyson Fury despite EU title fight confirmation with Kubrat Pulev – Boxing news
The Entertainer, Martin Rogan, is eyeing the current British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury despite his European Union title bid confirmation against the Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev on October 22, 2011.
Tyson Fury recently outpointed the Del Boy, Dereck Chisora, by a unanimous points’ victory after 12 brutal rounds of boxing to claim the British and Commonwealth titles on July 23, 2011 at the Wembley Arena in London and Rogan was at the ringside watching
both pugilists.
Rogan was there on purpose as he was called upon by the show’s promoter, Mick Hennessey, as a standby for Chisora. However when the results were announced all the attention centred on a potential Fury-Rogan bout for the Irish title in Belfast.
The 40-year-old from Belfast, Rogan, who has won 12 of his 14 professional fights including 6 by the way of a knockout, told the media he will take on the undefeated Cobra, Pulev, in October but on the same note he remarked if the price gets right for him,
he might change his decision.
“I have now got the go-ahead to fight Pulev on October 22, but I was over at the Fury fight in London and something may happen with him now,” revealed Rogan. “At the same time I don’t want to let the European title fight go either but if
the price was right I would maybe think again about Germany.”
Rogan also believes his match with the undefeated British prospect Tyson Fury would be an explosive fight and people will get they want to see on the fight night.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “After Fury won there was a lot of talk about coming to Belfast for a dust-up. I think Mick Hennessy wanted to do a bit of business quickly so hopefully we can get it done and give the fans here something to look
forward to.”
Tyson Fury is already desperate for the Irish title however let’s see whether Rogan fights Fury or not.
