The Merseyside club endured a disappointing first six months of the recently concluded 2010/11 season. Liverpool, who were under the management of Roy Hodgson, were struggling on the wrong side of the League table until the appointment of Kenny Dalglish.
The Legendary Scottish manager changed the fortunes of the Merseyside outfit with his immediate impact. Dalglish offloaded Torres and signed Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez to increase the depth and quality of the squad. The Reds then finished an impressive
sixth in the League standings.

Liverpool are once again being tipped to challenge for the Barclays Premier League title next season under the management of Kenny Dalglish.
Skrtel revealed that their plan for the upcoming season is basically to win every match possible in order to pose a stronger title challenge.
The Slovakian international told Liverpool’s official website, “Our plan for this season is simple as usual - to win everything we possibly can.”
The 26-year-old has assured the Anfield faithful that the players are determined to give their best next season in order to have a better campaign than the last one. Skrtel also revealed that Liverpool are aiming for the UEFA Champions League qualification.
“I can promise our fans that we will do everything to have a better season than the last one. And yes, we want to fight for the Champions League spot,” added the Reds defender.
Skrtel hailed Liverpool’s impressive form in the second half of the recently concluded 2010/11 season and is hopeful that the Reds will carry on their form in the upcoming Barclays Premier League campaign.
“The end of last season went very well and I believe we can continue to perform,” Skrtel stated.
The 26-year-old defender also asserted that Liverpool deserve to be in the top four of the Premier League.
“I truly believe we belong in the top four.”
Moreover, Skrtel also revealed his ambition to win silverware with Liverpool and has claimed that it is his personal goal to deliver trophies at Anfield.
“Obviously I have dreams left. I haven't won that many trophies. I want to win them all - that is my professional goal,” the 26-year-old defender concluded.
Martin Skrtel, who joined Liverpool from Zenit St. Petersburg, featured in all Barclays Premier League matches last season.
