Glamorgan’s South African recruit, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Robert-Cowdrey-c60631 Jaarsveld, who arrived in Sophia Gardens on Tuesday, is hoping to change the club’s flagging fortunes with some impressive batting performances.
The Welsh county has had a struggling start to the 2012 season, as they are yet to register their maiden win of the season.
Speaking to media reporters after arriving in Wales on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, the Transvaal batsman said that this was not the kind of start the Dragons had wanted, however, he was hopeful the side would soon make a turnaround.
“Conditions have been tough and by all accounts wickets were difficult to bat on,” said the South African. “It has not been the start Glamorgan wanted but hopefully we can turn it around,” he added further.
The 37-year-old Transvaal born right-handed batsman, who has played nine Tests and 11 One Day Internationals for South Africa, is expected to play his first game of the season in the Clydesdale Bank 40 match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851 at the Swalec Stadium, on Saturday

The lanky batsman was initially signed by the Dragons for the Friends Life T20 campaign, but linked up with the county following a disastrous start to the season.

“There is some difference between wickets in county cricket and in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. So to get some exposure to them is the right way forward for myself and the team,” he added further.

Glamorgan are currently playing their eighth championship game of the season against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Leicestershire-c807 at home and are yet to register a victory this season. With five losses and a drawn game, Wallace and men found themselves sitting at the bottom of the Championship
