Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams on the waiting list of darts fans
Three-time BDO Champion, Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams waits in Oxfordshire as the Premier Division of darts begins at Cambridgeshire this weekend.
Adams, who won the championship in the year 2007, 2010 and 2011, is being eyed as one of the top darts players in the world.
However, he could not maintain his winning streak after he was defeated by the Cheshire player Tony O’Shea in the quarter finals held earlier this month.
The upcoming battle between the two shires is expected to turn cutthroat with players like Dennis Smith, Chris Aubrey, Kirk Shepherd and Ian Moss making their return on the oche.
Interestingly, all of these players could participate in the darts trip to Northwich because of PDC UK Open qualifying about to go underway.
With Adams not becoming a part of the event, Oxfordshire will still look forward to securing a commendable position in the event.
Along with men competitions, the event will also be featuring darts encounters between female players. Their teams have been divided into two different wings A and B.
Karen Williams will be a part of Team A, whereas, Babs Manning will be accommodated in Team B.
All the games of the event will be held at Riley’s Snooker Pool and Darts Club and with all such star players taking part in the event.
Experts believe that this will certainly add greater excitement to the skyline of darts. It is important to mention here that Martin suffered a neck injury that played a pivotal role in adversely affecting his performance in the quarter final of the crucial
event.
By winning the event, the 55-year-old Adams was looking forward to equalise his portfolio with the veteran darts player Eric Bristow.
Unfortunately, he could not do that because of his loss. However, the record and portfolio he possesses at the BDO will always provide him with a special position in this particular circuit of darts.
Other than this, other players festooning the line-up of the event include: C Aubrey, N Cobb, S Dutton (Vauxhall Kidlington), Pete Hall (G W R S A Club Didcot), J Jukes, P Krabben, A Larner, K Lowe, I Moss, L Russell, K Shepherd, D Smith.
Men’s B: P Addison, A Barrett, K Bedding, M Kearns, E Lilly and G Manning.
