Daniela Hantuchova/Agnieszka Radwanska defeat Llagostera Vives/Parra Santonja
Slovakian/Polish pair of Daniela Hantuchova and Agnieszka Radwanska prevailed over Nuria Llagostera Vives and Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain in three sets 6-7(4), 6-1, 10-1 to advance to the semi-finals. The Slovakian/Polish
pair took 1 hour and 49 minutes to beat its opponents.
The opening set went to a tie-break as both pairs exchanged a single break of serve in the first twelve games of the set. Llagostera Vives and Parra Santonja took the early lead in the tie-break and consolidated on that to
win it 7-4.
The Spanish pair fired in 2 aces and committed a single double fault in the first set. The duo saved 6 of the 7 break points they faced in the opening set.
Hantuchova and Radwanska broke their opponents twice in the second set, winning it 6-1. The Slovakian/Polish pair hit 53 per cent of the first serves, winning 80 per cent of the points on them.
After winning the second set easily, Hantuchova and Radwanska demolished their opponents in the match tie-break, winning it 10-1.
The Slovakian/Polish pair will face Israeli/Chinese pair of Shahar Peer and Shuai Peng in the semi-finals.

Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain upset the top seed Argentinean/Italian pair of Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 in the quarter-finals of the women’s double event
at the Sony Ericsson Open on Tuesday.
The opening set saw both pairs breaking each other’s serve on number of occasions. However, it was Martinez Sanchez and Medina Garrigues who broke their opponents in the eleventh game and held their serve in the next game
to win the first set 7-5.
The Spanish pair hit 64 per cent of the first serves in the opening set, winning 52 per cent of the points on them Martinez Sanchez and Medina Garrigues. They converted all the 5 break points they received in the set. On
the other hand, Dulko and Pennetta converted 1 of the 5 break points they received in the opening set.
Martinez Sanchez and Medina Garrigues needed a single break of serve in the second set, winning it 6-4. The Spanish pair delivered 77 per cent of the first serves in the second set and converted 65 per cent of them into points.
