Wigan Athletic manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 revealed that he is delighted to be linked to a move to Anfield, after the Reds abject capitulation in the Premier League stirred speculations of a possible change of management in Liverpool.
The 38-year old orchestrated a remarkable comeback for the Latics in the last two months of the league campaign, to pull them out of the relegation zone. Wigan won their last three matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Newcastle United,
and suffered only two defeats in their last eleven league games. Their impressive late charge helped them secure 43 points from the season and subsequently finished the table at the 15th place.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 was subjected to even further scrutiny after Liverpool lost the
FA Cup final to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 earlier in the month.
Nevertheless, Martinez was pleased to be associated with the Merseyside club, and pointed out that the Reds reported interest in him goes on to show that they are impressed with his recent flurry of good results.
While talking to reporters, he said: “When you get stories linking clubs with your players or in this case with a manager, it must be because you have done something right.”
The former Swansea City manager took over the reins of Wigan in August 2009 and has since managed them in 127 matches in all competitions.
The Spaniard also highlighted the fact that rumours of players and managers moving to other clubs emerge frequently and was happy to be considered for a post based on his performance.
He continued, “We cannot control speculation and I am not going to lie to you, I like the speculation…The speculation I don't like is when it suggests you are going to lose your job after a couple of defeats. I am proud and happy that the club are attracting
a lot of good headlines and stories.”
The Latics, who were once entrenched deep in the relegation zone, experienced a startling late run, which saw them record victories against Liverpool (2-1), Manchester United (1-0), http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 (2-1) and Newcastle United (4-0). They closed out their season with

Meanwhile, Dalglish lashed out at the media over hoaxing false reports over the Spaniard’s move to Anfield.
He told the reporters, “I expect the owners to have more dignity and integrity than to believe a story in a newspaper.”
