Nevertheless, the Nigerian footballer who currently plays for Rubin Kazan, was hopeful that the Magpies will succeed in returning Champions League football at Tyneside for the first time in almost eight years.
He told the reporters, “I hope they can get into the Uefa Champions League because Newcastle really needs it because they’ve been fighting for it for ages.”

However, he believed that ups and downs do come in players and managers’ careers and backed the Scott to bounce back in the next season.
The striker also voiced his support in favour of compatriot Yakubu, who has failed to represent Nigeria in the last two years, claiming that the Blackburn’s ace player had been hard done by a stringent attitude of the national selectors.
