Martinstown Snow to swing back into form in the College Causeway Killahan Phanter Easter Cup Round 1 Heat 6 at Shelbourne Park
The College Causeway Killahan Phanter Easter Cup Round 1 Heat 6 is scheduled for Saturday, 24th March over 550 yards at Shelbourne Park. Competing tonight are Rockview Head, Rockchase Bullet, Kingo, Swift Marathon, Dear Pa and Martinstown Snow
for the €100 prize money.
The most accomplished among the lineup is Martinstown Snow, Premier Fantasy’s three-year-old white and black son out of b***h Martinstown Mist. He cracked into the new season and struck a hat trick right away.
His welcome race for the season was the Tyrur McGuigan @ Stud Open 575 Round 1 Heat 3 on 7th January at Shelbourne Park over 575 yards. Martinstown Snow won the race by thundering through the track in 31.42 seconds and the 5/4 favourite led the
field by a neck’s margin.
Following right behind the winner was Croom Star who took 31.44 seconds to race across the wire. Parking third behind the winner was Lemon Velvet.
Refusing to lose and conquering the season, Martinstown Snow won the Heat 3 by reaching the other end of the wire in 31.24 seconds and taking charge of the field by three lengths.
Yet again resting next to the winner was Croom Star, clocking the track distance in 31.48 seconds. Leaping for the wire third in row behind the winner was Tibetan Skies, the 6/4 favourite of the race.
Accomplishing what is quite very impossible for the majority of hounds out of their first three starts, Martinstown Snow struck a hat trick after claiming the third outing of the season.
On 21st January, Martinstown Snow won the Tyrur McGuigan @ Stud Open 575 Semi-Final at Shelbourne Park over 575 yards. He was done racing in 31.35 seconds and was entered as the 2/1 favourite for the race. It was not an effortless race as the
runner up who for the third straight time was Croom Star, was adrift by merely ¾ of a length.
After being declared unraced in the fourth attempt of the season on 28th January, Martinstown Snow was drilled over 525 yards’ distance at Shelbourne Park on 14th March.
Martinstown Snow has not raced during February and most of the March too and that is coupled with being trained recently which confirms his chances for victory tonight.
