Yorkshire's director of cricket Martyn Moxon has welcomed pace bowler Liam Plunkett’s mover from Riverside Ground to the Leeds, and hoped the right-arm medium pacer will prove to be a valuable inclusion in the squad.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LE-Plunkett-c1833, the 27-year-old fast bowler, on Tuesday ended his 12-year-long stay at the Riverside Ground, after signing a three-year contract with the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
After a lean 2011 campaign, the Yorkshire-born right-arm medium-pacer has had an injury plagued 2012 season, which saw him playing only one championship game for Durham. To date, he has played 107 First Class matches, and has picked up 321 wickets at 31.75.
Moxon, currently the director of cricket at Headingley, was the Durham coach when Plunkett made his debut in early 2000s, and is looking forward to working with the speedster once again.
“Liam well from my time in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867.
“He’s a wholehearted cricketer with considerable talent and brings experience and quality to the Yorkshire side as we head back to the Division One,” he went on to add.
Plunkett has also played 9 Tests and 29 One Day Internationals for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, at Perth.
Moxon said that at the age of 27, Plunkett still has a lot of cricket left in him and hoped his club would assist his development and help him achieve his ambitions within the game.
“He has what it takes to regain a place in the England side,” said Yorkshire’s director of cricket. “He is still only 27 and I'm sure Yorkshire can further assist his development and help him achieve his ambitions within the game. I look forward to working with him again,” he added further.
Plunkett also hoped his move to Headingley would help him regain a spot in the national set up.
"I strongly believe I’ve what it takes to play at the highest level again and I feel Yorkshire is the best environment to help me achieve this."
