  1. Hagler wins this fight every time .... McCallum was a fine champion but when you talk about the greats Hagler is up there ...... Hagler wears Mike down in around the 12th of an absolute thriller ......

  2. Excellent match up between two of my favourite fighters. McCallum was best as a light middleweight and was certainly one of the best of all time in that division, but i feel Hagler was the best middleweight of all time. Unfortunately for him the Leanard fight which was a rare poor performance for him seems to be the fight he is best known for, and i think he is to an extent underrated by many people. If this fight was at super middleweight it would be even further out of McCallums natural weight class and i see him loseing a unanimous decision to Hagler on points.

  3. Marvin Hagler will be too strong for Mike McCallum. Hagler by late round TKO.

  4. Wow....good GOOOD matchup...Im surprised more people didnt chime up on this one.

Id lean towards Bodysnatcher on this one. Marvin was definitely an all time great but he had some issues I cant ignore.

In the fight that was deemed "The best short fight in history" against Hearns....they beat the SNOT out of each other until Hagler muscled up and knocked Hearns out. Which is a great achievement until you consider that Hearns was not a true middleweight to begin with, he was a welter that had moved up.

The same thing goes for Ray Leonard...again someone that moved up to the weight. Now the truth is that Ray did shoe-shine his way thru that fight. But there is no way a man that hadnt fought for two years, with ring rust, should be able to come into a ring and clown you like that without paying for it. Ray not only survived, he won.

McCallum was truly boxing's "soldier"...he LIVED to fight...he liked good fights, bad fights. Win or lose, he liked to fight. Merchant once questioned him that so many of his opponents hadnt lasted and it was questionable if he could do above ten rounds (they were falling by round five)..and McCallum's BASIC answer was "Hey, I get paid to knock people out...this is what I do. Now that Im doing it well, your gonna fault me for it?"

I dont see Hagler bullying McCallum, not if he couldnt against some smaller fighters.

  5. MARVIN HAGLER.

  6. hagler outbox's the body snatcher in a close fight.

  7. Hagler.

Floyd would be beat both though!

  8. By his performances,id say he wasnt  in the same league as Marvin Hagler, who'd find a way to avoid Macallums body blows and counter, tough fight but Hagler by points dec.
