Maryland laws for issuing a death certificate for a still born infant?

a very dear friend of mine recently lost her daughter at 28 weeks. in pennsylvania a death certificate is issued but I'm not so sure about maryland. we want to give her a proper funeral so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. please don't be insensitive or crude this is a very hard time and i want to do all i can for her

  1. Every state in the U.S.  issues a fetal death certificate for all stillbirths.


  2. I'm so sorry for her loss. You are a good friend for supporting her through this.

    I am not a resident of the USA so I don't know the law, but I can tell you that the hospital she went to for treatment should be able to advise her/you. Failing that I have listed a couple of relevant websites that may help.

  3. The only thing that i could find was that it does offer a death certificate and therefor requires a proper burial. Try calling the hospital they could give you a number to someone that could help you i'm sure. Sometimes that hospital provides these in a box with a peice of the infants hair and hand and foot prints.
