Marylebone Cricket Club win comprehensively against Nottinghamshire
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) overcame Nottinghamshire in a game of the Champion County Match by 174 runs, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Chasing 468 for victory, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nottinghamshire-c826 were bowled out for 293 runs in their second innings.
The conditions weren’t the easiest for batting on the first couple of days, but things got better for the batsmen during the course of the match.
Day-three of play was started by MCC on 300 for the loss of five wickets. Start Indian batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahul-c83321 Dravid was unbeaten on 81 whereas; Mohammad Nabi started the day on two.

The start to the second innings of Nottinghamshire wasn’t an ideal one, as they lost their top four early. Openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mark-Wagh-c1912 were sent back to the pavilion after adding just one and four runs to the total respectively. They were followed

Nottinghamshire were struggling at 21 for the loss of four wickets when wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ali-Brown-c994 in the middle. The pair batted sensibly and guided their team out of trouble with a brilliant century partnership for the fifth wicket.
The pair put 111 runs together before Read was dismissed for a well made half-century. He scored 51 runs with the help of seven fours and one towering six. Just two balls later, Brown was also dismissed after collecting 55 runs. He played well and struck
nine fours in his valiant innings.
This brought Steve Mullaney and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Franks-c2163 at the crease and the pair played exceptionally well. They scored 130 runs for the seventh wicket and guided their team’s total to 262. However, Mullaney got out after scoring 62 runs, which triggered a collapse
for the team.
Franks was the last man to be dismissed in the Notts innings. He top scored the innings with 73 runs.
