Marzuki Yusof confident ahead of his team’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Malaysia-c2949 Cup final against Negeri Sembilan
After putting in months of hard work and making way into the final, Terengganu skipper Marzuki Yusof has expressed desire of winning the Malaysia Cup by beating Negeri Sembilan on Saturday.
Both teams were placed in Group B alongside PKNS FC and Sime Darby FC. Terengganu defeated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Selangor-FA-c40479 with an aggregate 3-2 score line, while Negeri dumped PBDKT T-Team FC by a comprehensive 6-3 score line over the two legs.
The two clubs will meet for one final time on Saturday, October 29, at Shah Alam Stadium in their quest to become the Malaysian champion.
Yusof stated that his side are geared up for the big game and will definitely give a hard time to their tough opponents. He denied being considered underdogs for Saturday’s final despite Negeri’s outstanding display in the competition.
The defender urged his teammates to stay positive in front of the Deer in order to lift the country’s biggest crown on Saturday.
Terengganu are on the verge of their second title this season, having previously won FA Cup early in the year.
Marzuki further expressed delight on leading his side into the final of the competition. He hoped to win the title and wants to lift the trophy for the first time as the captain.
While talking to The Star ahead of Saturday’s big clash, the 30-year-old also added, "We have the chance to bag the double, and it is not often that teams have the chance to play in the final. We have a good mix of young and experienced players in the squad.
There is a good attacking flair and, as I have done all season, I will make sure the backline stays solid against Negri."
The Malaysian international concluded by saying, "This time, it [the Malaysia Cup] will be extra special as I am the captain. I am lucky to have the chance to lift the most coveted cup in the country once more after first winning it as a rookie."
This is Yusof’s second spell with Terengganu, having previously represented them from 2001 to 2003. He earned his Malaysia debut in 2002 and has four caps under his belt so far.
