Masa Kishida seizes Men’s 50m freestyle gold – Southwest Classic Invitational, Arizona

Masa Kishida of Ford Aquatics-AZ seized gold medal of the Men’s 50m freestyle at the 2012 Southwest Classic Invitational in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, May 5.
The 26-year-old Kishida spoiled the party of his challengers by ensuring his top finish in the single lap freestyle event. With his utter determination, he gave no chance to his opponents and transpired on the finishing blockade for gold medal.
He remained in a comfortable lead over his closest swimmer as he tapped the wall for gold medal with the timing of 23.59 seconds.
His title-claiming effort was followed by his teammate, Simon A Burnett, who remained 0.17 seconds apart and reached the victory stand for silver medal by clocking a time of 23.76 seconds.
Burnett was chased by his team-member, Matt C Grevers, who remained 0.15 seconds behind and emerged on the finishing wall for bronze medal with an effort of 23.91 seconds.
With his impeccable swim, the bronze medallist remained 0.30 seconds faster from Payton M Sorenson of MAC-AZ, who settled on the finishing wall as fourth position holder with the timing of 24.21 seconds.
Similarly, the 18-year-old Sorenson remained 0.21 seconds ahead of his strongest challenger, Adam M Small of Arizona-AZ, who emerged on the wall as fifth fastest swimmer with an effort of 24.42 seconds.
Small was followed by his teammate, Luke A Pechmann, who was just 0.07 seconds slower and produced a time of 24.49 seconds for sixth position.
The 22-year-old Pechmann enjoyed a benefit of only 0.04 seconds over his following rival, Bart J Steninger of Ford Aquatics-AZ.
Steninger remained marginally slower from his former finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 24.53 seconds for seventh position.
Last spot of the race was followed by Tommy W Gutman of Arizona-AZ, who remained 0.08 second apart and settled on the finishing wall as eighth best finisher with the timing of 24.61 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship came to an end after the completion of all planned events in Men and Women’s category while the position holders were invited on the victory stand at the medal ceremony after the session.
