Masa is such a push over?

Do you think Schuy would have let Hamilton push him aside to get by like he did Masa yesterday?

  1. Massa was ditched by Hamilton. Piquet was an easy prey. I am sure Hamilton will be in difficult situation if Schumy is in his front. Schumy will not allow to pass him easily, his defense mode is different from other drivers, very good in blocking.

  2. I think Massa (double s btw) had overheated brakes, so he couldn't defend his position.

  3. Felipe hasn't got the all singing all dancing Ferrari that Michael had. for a start there is no traction control in this years Ferrari's which does change the handling, also he had brake problems. I think even Michael would have had problems in this years Ferrari as its not as bullet proof as they were when he had his hands on them.

  4. I think he wasn't confident with the brakes.

As you saw Hamilton slipstreamed down the straight but as he got behind Massa he lifted slightly and gave away his speed advantage.

That's because he didn't want to go round the outside and prefered to stay down the inside hoping Massa would move left on the brakes and give him some room.

    Which he did.

Massa on the other hand seeing as Hamilton stayed behind him and didn't attempt to drive past on the left, having perhaps trouble with his brakes and balance felt it would be safer to take his usual line and just brake that bit later.

With Hamilton a bit further back it might be enough.

Had he tried to brake on the inside he was probably worried he would run wide and hand the position to Lewis.

As it turned out Hamilton didn't chew up Massa on the brakes, he was gaining but not by too much so when they got to the turn in point he was not far enough ahead for it to be straightforward.

It was a case of move over or we touch and we may crash and Massa drove for points.

I too was surprised that he didn't keep the inside but he obviously felt uncomfortable doing so.

Losing 1,5 seconds than Lewis driving a Ferrari he was certainly not happy with the car.

Don't forget he was actually a bit slower than Piquet in the Renault, that in my book explains a lot about why he couldn't defend any better.

  5. give the guy a break already, his car wasn't perfect and Lewis was driving a blinder. Why does he have to be compared to the push people off the track schumacher all the time.

  6. It depends on the situation.  Obviously Felipe didn't have that great of a car or he would have come right back after Lewis.  Schumi would have known what to do and when.

  7. Well, it didn't impress Hamilton very much, judging from his comments to the press that Massa didn't defend very well.

Massa is quick but very unreliable.  The car has its problems too.

They no longer have the dream team that supported Schumacher, and they no longer have Schumacher either.  I give it about 2 races before they start rampant finger pointing between drivers and team, and expect them to have 2 new drivers next year.

  8. Massa's Ferrari had a slower car than McLarens had in the last race. That's why Hamilton managed to push him aside. Given Schumy's skills, I could not see it happening as hamilton is driving close to the racing line, and massa just went a little wide.
