  1. yes you have to put them in a bag

  2. Yeah, they are considered as "liquid" by the airport securities.  When I went on vacation, flying from Denver to NYC, the Denver International Airport, New York's La Guardia and JFK airports' securities all told me I had to put them in the quart-sized plastic bags they supplied at the airports.  So no, don't use Sandwich Bags, you can pick up the required bags at the airport for free.  They also told me that, if you pack them in your luggages, you don't have to put them in their quart-sized bags.

  3. Yes they all have to be in your one litre zip lock bag.

This is because its not only liquid but gels and aerosols too.

I went to London from Australia and back and I had to have my mascara and lip balm (and my gluestick) in my bag.

It's pretty easy to fill up the bags so I like just taking a few samples from magazines that I have collected over a period of time, and this cuts down on the amount of space used.

In my zip lock bag I can fit:

Oralife (quite large 20g tube of lipbalm)

1 x nivea pearl and shine lip gloss

    1 x blistex

1 x CG volume exact mascara

1 x travel sized Chanel Imitable mascara

    1 x MAC concealer

1 x lancome primordiale skin defence moisturising serum 10ml

    1 x palmers cocoa butter formula 50ml

1 x crabtree and evelyn hand therapy 25ml

1 x small bottle shampoo (see below)

    1 x small bottle conditioner (  "     "   )

1 x small roll on deodorant

    1 x small toothpaste

    6 x foundation sample sizes

6 x face moisturiser sample sizes

    1 x 20ml evian spray / atomizer

1 x small perfume (like those ones you can get in a pack)

The Body Shop has a really good travel set that comes with a clear bag and some travel sized containers so you can 'decant' your shampoos or moisturisers or whatever into them, there are three bottles (shampoo sized) and two small jars (moisturiser, sunscreen etc sized) and all fit within airline regulations.

    Have fun on your holiday!

  4. Yes, they're all considered liquid (even the Dream Matte Mousse). Put them in a quart-sized (NOT sandwich sized - quart size is a bit bigger and it's TSA-approved) baggie for security.

In a quart sized bag, I can fit:

    - liquid foundation (CoverGirl)

    - 2 things of mascara

    - 6 lip glosses

    - 1 sample of tinted moisturizer

    - 1 small container of cheek stain

    - 3 mini perfumes (sample sized)

    - 3 fl.oz. bottle of Downy Wrinkle Releaser (every traveler's dream come true - it's awesome stuff)

    - 2 fl.oz. bottle of Dove hairspray

    - 2 fl.oz travel toothpaste

So you can fit a pretty large amount of stuff into 1 quart sized bag - including all of the liquid makeup that you'll need.

    Hope this has helped.

  5. Not generally, but I always put them in the bag anyway.  Lip balm definitely goes in the bag.

And don't use just a sandwich bag; it has to be a one-quart ziplock bag.
