In wake of his side’s goalless draw against AC Milan, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071 has expressed his displeasure as Barcelona could not manage to score.
The Argentine international believes that La Blaugrana should have secured an important victory away from home as they were better than the Rossoneri in the mid-week fixture.
Pep Guardiola’s men travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 to lock horns with the current Italian Serie A champions in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.
Mascherano believes that a victory for his side was not hard to be achieved as Barca created several chances at goal, but failed to convert them.
The defensive midfielder also criticized the condition of the San Siro pitch, and argued that it did not allow the visitors to bear any fruit from the chances that they created.
Although the match ended in favour of neither of the teams, La Blaugrana’s dominance over Massimiliano Allegri’s men was evident. The Spanish giants created almost twice as many chances as the Italian champions and were more than impressive in the
encounter.
Adding to the frustration of Barcelona players, a penalty appeal was denied by the match official after Alexis Sanchez was brought down inside the box by the AC Milan goalkeeper. Apart from that, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869 also failed to finish a great chance created
by the Messi.
Mascherano, who himself was quite remarkable throughout the match, has stressed that everything depends on the second leg now and is he completely focused on playing against Milan at the Nou Camp.
According to UEFA.com the Argentine was quoted as saying:
"We played very well but when you have six or seven chances to score and you don't take them it's difficult to take. We know how experienced they are. They have a lot of clever players so I think the next game will be the same because they defend so
well.”
"But we have a lot of players in attack that can put on a good show, score goals and win us the match. Obviously with all the Barcelona supporters behind us we will try everything to get through to the next round.”
The second leg of the quarter-final will take place in six days time at the Nou Camp, as football fans eagerly look forward to finding out which of the European giants will make it to the semi-final.
