Mascherano hits at Liverpool after poor act in free market
Argentinean http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071 has hit back at his former club, Liverpool, stating that the management at Anfield shows very little or no interest in retaining its players, and resultantly, key players have parted
ways with the team.
The player is clearly talking about himself and relating to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for a deal worth fifty million pounds. The defensive midfielder couldn’t hold back any longer and just had to reveal how poor the club was keeping
its players faithful. He then went on to add that perhaps it was better for Torres on a personal level to go to Stamford Bridge, than to stay at Liverpool.
Mascherano is reported to have said, "I was not surprised about what happened with Fernando. When I left Liverpool, it looked as if I killed someone. It is sad that the people who did something important with the club have to leave by the back door. It is
sad that the press and the club try to convince people that it is all the player's fault when the reality is that Liverpool didn't show the interest in keeping us in the club. The most important players didn't leave the club well. I spoke with Fernando and
I said to him that he doesn't have to be worried because he did his best for the club. Even though he didn't win any trophies, he was a very important player and helped this club all the time."
Torres’ transfer has clearly gone onto inflict some wounds on the Argentinean, since he also quit Liverpool and joined Barcelona in August 2010. However, his move away from the team was rather dramatic. The player had made it clear that he wanted to leave,
and following his decision he stopped training for the team and performing on the pitch. He then insisted that he would no longer be happy at the club, and only a move to Barcelona would do him justice. He eventually got his wish granted, but the controversial
move scarred his image in the eyes of Liverpool loyals.
Nonetheless, with Torres now also doing the same, the player finally feels that he can redeem himself in front of his former Liverpool fans, who he said he would still love and cherish, no matter what.
The outburst from Mascherano is a little out of context, considering he really has no business interfering with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s matters anymore; however, everyone has their opinions and Mascherano just felt the need to make them more public.
