Mash Mad Snowy to surprise Jaytee Youngy in Williamhill.com Puppy Plate Final at Sunderland
The odds are not in favour of Mash Mad Snowy, but S. Cahill’s black dog seems to be in fine position to stamp the rivals in the finale of Williamhill.com Puppy Plate, taking place at Sunderland on Thursday, July 12th.
The blue dog was a surprise winner in the last round of the competition. The 5-1 chance performed superbly in the final moments, ensuring the first prize by ¾ a length. He took a handsome lead at the fourth bend, and did not allow anyone to spoil his party
thereafter.
He ran well to conclude the race in 27.42 seconds – the fastest time in the opening round of the championship. Although he is not one of the regular winners, no one can afford to ignore his chances in today’s big meeting.
Winning three of the previous four races shows how good form he is in these days. If he carries forward the good work, his rivals will completely be unable to stop him from bagging the top prize.
Others in the line-up are: Jaytee Youngy, Citizen Saga, Skate On, Droopys Pride and Welton South. The 450 metres flat race will be started at 21:05 (GMT).
Jaytee Youngy is likely to get the highest starting price following a few tremendous shows lately. The black dog performed magnificently at Kinsley last month, winning three of the four races with ease.
P. Young’s trainee continued his good work at this track, winning the first-round race comfortably. Despite getting crowded at the first bend, he secured the top position by 1¾ lengths. He will be uncatchable, only if he gets a clean ride.
Citizen Saga also ran pretty well last time, topping the table by four and a quarter lengths. Ace Hi Rumble’s son stopped the clock in 27.43 seconds – the second best finishing time after Mash Mad Snowy. The rest of the crew is unlikely to do anything special
tonight.
According to our calculations, it is going to be a close battle between Jaytee Youngy and Mash Mad Snowy. The latter gets our vote, because he is full of confidence after an outstanding effort in the previous round.
