Question:

Masking tape (adhesive) along edges of windowscreen to keep bugs out = attracting more bugs?

The windowscreen in my room at my new place is all bent out of shape on the sides and moths have been getting in, so I've lined the edges with masking tape. (My landlord is lazy and still hasn't replaced it). However, I've heard that certain bugs (like silverfish) are attracted to starch, and masking tape adhesive has starch in it... so will I just make this problem even worse by using masking tape?

  1. If you are really worried go get some duct tape and change it out. personally I think the silverfish prefer damp and cracks to masking tape. One thought though, You might catch a few on the sticky.

    All the best to you.
