  1. i think the idea for a masquerade party is really cool.

for the food, maybe some chips, cookies, brownies, pizza, all the usual.

music, i personally like alternative so maybe that?

outfits, something you can find cheap but awesome.

entertainment, maybe it could be a dancing party as well.

decorations, go to a party store and get all the stuff you think would go well with your party theme.

    glitter sounds cool!

well, i hope you have a good party. :]

  2. omg that sounds soooo much fun! thx for giving me the theme of my b day party! lol. kk and purple and gold r my two fav colors!! omg that sounds soooo much fun! mabye u could watch the episode of gossip girl were they have that party...lol. also you should have glitter!!!!

food: if you want to go casual just go w. the usual or look up some interesting recipes.

music: look at itunes top 10. 1. i kissed a girl 2.7 things 3.burnin up 4.viva la vida 5. disturbia 6. when i grow up 7. forever 8. pocket full of sunshine 9. shake it 10. take a bow

costumes: make a uniform up on the card so ppl know what to get and dont feel embarassed when they show up looking like a freak.

entertainment: dancing, music, video games, food bar thing, cake (in the shape of a mask?), a quiter place to hang out.

oh and the glitter should be silver and red (easiest to find)

oh and the decorations should be

    1. cake :)

    2. glitter

    3.baloons w. ur color theme

    4. party bags.. mabye little mask key chain? and a CD of the music u played.(cute)

5.oh a and teh uniform should be a mask and a old fashioned dress for the girls and slacks and a t-shirt for the boys.

ok i hope this all helps!

  3. I've had a theme like this before. With a masquerade you'll want a sort of formal style.

    Invitations:

You could try your hand at calligraphy on recycled/posh paper, or you could type them in Microsoft Word using a posh font and print them out like letters. You could make a wax seal using candle wax and a coin/stamp :) Or you could put some glitter in the envelope with the letter so it will be all nice and glittery when the guests read it :) Very fancy and cheap!

    Outfits:

Go for a formal theme (dresses and suits) with masks (hand-made or bought from a costume shop). Perhaps you could include a template for a mask and stick/skewer in the invitations so your guests can make them? All it takes is some card, a stick/skewer and some tape. They could then decorate them how they like :)

    Entertainment:

    - Photographer (s/he could print out photos or use a Polaroid and take pictures of people as they arrive, and you can give them out as party favours)

    - Dance judges with prizes for the best couple/dancer

    - It sounds like it will mostly be dancing, so worry more about the music for this one :)

    Music:

Try a DJ (who will already have lots of popular cool music) or a home stereo system for music.

Popular danceable music include Scissor Sisters, Cascada, High School Musical soundtrack, Girls Aloud etc - even better, get a compilation album with different artists on it and leave that playing.

    Decorations:

Try small bouquets of flowers. Very elegant and that's what we had at prom. You can put them on tables - you'll want tables for those not dancing.

Elegant balloons are good too (just regular ones in plain colours - purple and silver work very well together).

You could sprinkle glitter on the tables or hang up glittery bunting.

I would say candles but you may have accidents. See if you can get some electric ones (you can get them as sconces, so perhaps you can get some as lamps).

    Food:

Buffet-style finger food is best, e.g. small sandwiches, chips (crisps where I come from), popcorn, brownies and sweets. Try soft drinks for drinks, make them seem more grown-up with slices of lemon or make a non-alcoholic fruit punch (fruit salad, fruit juice and lemonade).

    Hope this helps! :)
