Masquerade Party?

For my birthday party, I am turning 14; I will be hosting a Masquerade Ball/ Party. This will be at my house and in my back yard. I have the decor down: theme colors are scarlet, black, dark blue, and silver or gold, stars hanging from the ceiling a backdrop for people to take pictures, and Balloons will also be placed throughout the room. It will be from about 630 to ten pm. We will dance and eat snack stuff. Dress code~ basically hip church clothes. Like jeans and dress shirts for guys, jeans or skirts for girls with nice t's or dress shirts and MASKS are a MUST. What should we DO? And how should I make the invitations? Any pictures would be helpful!!!! Thanks. p.s. no links ~ your words please!!!

  1. Actually, for my Sweet 16 I had a Masquerade party based on Phantom of the Opera.  :D  It was held at my house (and my house is just your average American home) and we have a really high ceiling in the living room so my dad spray painted three hula hoops gold and hung ice-cicle lights on them to make it look like a chandelier.  Everyone had to dress in either a tux or gowns and, of course, wear masks.  There was a mini snack buffet in the living room, too.  The entire house was covered with candles!  We just jammed to regular music, nothing classy or anything.  But it was SOOOO much fun!

My dad made my invitations.  He's a computer graphics artist, so he made them look super chic.  They were really really nice and fancy, too.

Yours sounds a little less dressy, but still totally cool, so I think you should cut out cards in the shape of a simple mask and write or type the info inside!  Maybe put some colorful graffiti on the inside so when they open it the graffiti falls out.

Just be a good hostess, play some fun dancing music, and get the party started!

    HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK!
