i have the game mass effect on pc but when i try to install it says "Mass Effect will not run properly because the driver for your display adapter is too old. You must update your driver to correct this problem. Please see your hardware vendor's website for further information on obtaining the required drivers.". what does this mean? does it mean i wont be able to play it?

i have like a 500gb harddrive, 512mb of ram.

please help thanks

  1. from the requirements that ive seen it looks like your ram is... at most... half of the required (1gb for xp, 2 gb for vista). so ... i would seriously check that out

  2. The error message is basically telling you that the video card and/or its drivers on your system are WAY outdated and are unfit to run Mass Effect. There are two solutions to this dilemma: the quick way is to provide a little more information regarding your system and what kind of video card you have; the other involves you going out to an electronics store and purchasing a newer video card (preferably an nVidia 7800, Radeon 2600, or better)

What else that jumps out at me is the amount of RAM in your computer. 512MB is scraping the very, VERY bottom of any gaming requirement. Even if you get your display driver issue resolved, playing Mass Effect with just half a gigabyte of RAM is going to be very unpleasant.
