Massa tops Free Practice 2 of 2011 Indian GP at Buddh International Circuit – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa topped the Free Practice session 2 for the 2011 Indian Grand Prix in the afternoon on October 28 at the Buddh International Circuit.
After a successful FP1, all the teams took part in the afternoon session. The drivers again used the sets of soft and hard compounds during FP2. Moreover, the drivers tested the new upgrades in their respective cars after running in afternoon session at
the Buddh International Circuit.
The Maranello-based outfit driver Massa set the fastest time of 1 minute and 25.706 seconds in FP2 after running on the soft and hard tyres by Pirelli.
The Brazilian was closely followed by Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel, who finished his run behind Massa with a gap of 0.088 seconds.
Fernando Alonso took third position for Ferrari in the end of FP2.
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton was at the top position in FP1. He was unable to retain his place in afternoon session and came at the fourth place in the final FP2 classifications after trying his best.
Mark Webber claimed fifth place for the Red Bull Racing team at the end of afternoon session after running on the soft and hard compounds.
McLaren’s other driver Jenson Button finished his practice session 2 of the Indian Grand Prix at the sixth position after running at the Buddh International Circuit.
Force India driver Adrian Sutil was again in a competitive form in FP2. He put his team at the seventh place in afternoon session after putting all of his efforts.
Lotus-Renault’s Bruno Senna impressed the FP2 by taking eighth position for his team in India.
Paul di Resta of Force India ended up in the ninth place ahead of Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi, who came at the tenth position in the final FP2 classifications.
Vitaly Petrov took 11th position for Renault in the end of FP2 in India. Sauber duo Jaime Alguersuari and Sergio Perez completed their runs at the 12th and 13th places respectively in the afternoon
session.
Mercedes GP driver Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg were unable to finish their FP2 in the top ten positions, as their rivals were faster as compared to them.
