  1. Even though you are taught how to massage properly, if you have week joints then you are still going to get pain.  I've been massaging for 4 years now part time (I am a sports teacher but also qualified in aromatherapy) and I have trouble with my finger joints.  I stumbled apon an Australian oil on the internet which is used for arthritis and muscular pain relief.  It is all the rage in Australia.  The Chinese olympic team are using it for the Beijing games and they know a thing or two about therapy.  I got some from a supplier and it is great for me and also the client.  I use it on them now mostly for massages as it is 100% natural.  My fingers don't get sore so I can do more massages and make a bit more cash.  There was a 14 day money back guarantee with it but I didn't need it and use it a lot now.  I've included the link for you, both the Aussie one and uk one.

  2. Check out this site for your state:  http://massagetherapy.com/careers/stateb...

Yes, giving massage does take its toll on your hands and arms but you are taught in school how to properly use  your body mechanics to prevent injury.

  3. Contact the WA State Board of Massage.

Giving massages could take its toll on your hands and shoulders but I see people who are sitting at desks all day that are much worse than me!

You just have to take care of yourself just like anything else.

  4. I don't really understand why you would want to make a career out of rubbing old people's feet and backs. EEW!!
