Massage therapy in ohio?

How long does it take to become a massage therapist in Ohio? How much does schooling cost?

Go to www.abmp.com or www.amta.com, two sites for massage therapy associations, won't tell you how much school costs but will give the education requirements for Ohio, whether or not you need to be licensed in Ohio. Each school will have different program costs, in Kentucky the schools charge anywhere from $7500-$20,000. The most expensive isn't necessarily the best. I went to the school that was the first accredited massage school, privately owned by 2 massage therapists who have 30+ years of experience, and it was one of the least expensive. The most expensive is one of those "trade schools" that teach just about everything, and they just started offering massage programs last year.

Sorry for the long answer, RESEARCH the schools, VISIT the schools, you should be given an opportunity to talk to instructors and DON'T sign a contract commiting yourself to the program. Some of the trade schools really just want your money, if you decide it isn't for you, you'll be stuck with them.
