The Rossoneri manager insists that the team always believed that they will catch up with Juventus, and states that the lads are fired up for the Milan Derby.
Massimiliano Allegri believes that AC Milan were never out of the race to the Serie A glory, and insists that the team believes and will always believe in victory over Juventus.
The Bianconeri dropped two points from their game against Lecce, allowing the Rossoneri to close the gap between the two teams with a win over Atalanta. The development means that just one point separate the two Italian Giants, with only two matches left
to be played in the league.
The Rossoneri coach joked that the Scudetto was gift-wrapped for the Champions with a 2-0 lead over Atalanta before the final whistle.
The tactician insisted that the upcoming game will be a pivotal moment for the team as they prepare to lock horns with their city rivals. He stated that the game comes at a good time for the Rossoneri as they are in a good momentum, and the players will
be even more motivated in the anticipation of the big game.
While talking to the press, the 44-year-old said:
“With five minutes to go, the Scudetto was practically signed, sealed and delivered. Sunday will be a wonderful evening anyway and we are really fired up for the derby. This fixture gets the players going anyway and perhaps we could not have asked for a
better game, as we are highly motivated, certainly more than we were tonight.”
Allegri stated that the team will desperately wait for another slip up from the Bianconeri, in order to allow them to climb back onto the top of the league standings. He stated that Juventus still holds the season in their hands, but insisted that the team
always believed and will continue to believe in their hopes of league victory.
“If we do well and Juve slip up again, then we can overtake them. The Scudetto is still in Juve’s hands, but we believe and we always believed.”
