Massimiliano Allegri confident Stephan El Shaarawy will succeed at A.C Milan: Serie A news
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is confident that the Genoa midfielder, Stephan El Shaarawy, can be a great signing for the Rossoneri.
El Shaarawy is close to joining Milan after the player’s agent last week revealed that an agreement between the two clubs has been reached. The midfielder has also agreed personal terms with the Milan officials and now only a medical
separates him from becoming a Milan player.
Reports in the media suggest that Milan has agreed to pay Genoa approximately €10m fee to get 50 percent ownership of the player.
El Shaarawy impressed a lot in a loan spell with Serie B side, Padova, in the 2010/11 season and scored seven goals in 25 appearances to catch the eye of some of the top clubs in Europe.
Allegri believes that the playmaker can become a top player at Milan and has the potential to replace few of the big names at the club.
Talking to the reporters Allegri said, "El Shaarawy is very good and will become a first class player. He is still young and has a lot of quality. He is the type of player we need to start a new cycle and to be competitive again
in Europe.”
"However, we have to be careful with him and I don't want to create an image of him being a phenomenon. He is a young boy and will need time to adapt to his new surroundings. He has the right attitude. Milan don't just look at
the technical aspect when we sign someone."
Allegri is looking to build a squad after winning the Scudetto in the recently concluded 2010/11 campaign. The fact that majority of the Milan midfielders have reached the twilight of their playing career, they are now looking
to invest in young blood before the implementation of Fair Play rule.
Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi, has also confirmed the deal and the player is expected to undergo a medical on Saturday and will complete his move to San Siro within this week.
