Milan registered a 3-1 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robinho-c31382
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 came off the bench to confirm his side’s place in the semi-finals of the Cup.
Allegri has hailed his team after the win and believes that the hunger of reaching the semi-final of the competition spurred them to a win. The tactician is confident that his team will continue playing like this and will reach
the final of the competition.
While talking to the reporters, Allegri said,
“There were several chances in the first half and Marco Amelia did well to keep Lazio at bay. My team did well and we really wanted to reach the semi-final. Hopefully we can keep going and reach the Final, too.”
The former Cagliari boss heaped praise on the new boys, Djamel Mesbah and Stephan El-Shaarawy for their impressive performances in the game. Mesbah started his first game in Milan shirt and played extremely well in the left-back
role. Allegri believes that the former Lecce defender had a very good game and kept things very easy.
The 44-year-old went onto praise El-Shaarawy and insisted that the young attacker is improving with every game he is playing. However, Allegri is sad for Alexander Merkel, who had to be substituted after 70 minutes.
“Mesbah had a good game and defended in a very orderly fashion. El Shaarawy is improving with every match, while Merkel also played well. It’s just a shame Merkel picked up that injury and it will be evaluated over the next few
days.” Added the former Cagliari boss
A.C Milan will play Juventus in the two-legged semi-final of Coppa Italia over the next two months. The first-leg will be played at San Siro in February.
