A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has expressed his delight after signing a two-year extension at San Siro.
Allegri’s contract talks were put on hold for the past few months after the two parties could not reach on an agreement. After months of negotiation, the former Cagliari boss has finally put pen to paper, and will remain at San
Siro until the end of 2013/14 season.
The 44-year-old joined the Rossoneri before the start of the 2010/11 season, and guided his team to win the Serie A in his debut campaign. Milan have continued their brilliant performances under Allegri this season too, as they
currently lead the Serie A standings.
Allegri insisted that he has enjoyed his time with the Rossoneri, and is excited to continue working for them. The former Cagliari boss thanked Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani for showing faith in him, and insists that the
club is moving in the right direction.
While talking to Milan Channel, Allegri said,
“I am happy with the opportunity to work for another two years with Milan. I thank President Silvio Berlusconi and Vice-President http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani for their faith in me. I believe we have everything we need to continue the work
started a year and a half ago.”
The tactician is looking forward to the Milan derby, and believes that it is always a special occasion to play against bitter rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. The game will be played at San Siro on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
Allegri has revealed his targets for the season, and insists that he wants to retain the Scudetto, and hopes to make good progress in the UEFA Champions League and Coppa Italia.
“The derby is always a delicate encounter and I think this edition is particularly important, about as much as last season. Our objective now is to have a great derby and reach the end of the season trying to win the Scudetto,
do great things in the Champions League and going forward in the Coppa Italia.”
