AC Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is satisfied with the result of the first-leg of the quarter-final against Barcelona.
The Rossoneri held http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 to a goalless stalemate at San Siro on Wednesday, March 28. Allegri has heaped praise on his team’s defending on the evening, and insists that his team defended in an organised manner.
Barcelona were stopped from scoring in a European game for the first time in two and a half years. The last time the Catalans failed to score in Champions League was against Manchester United in the semi-final of the 2007/08 season.
Given the statistics, the tactician is happy with his team’s efforts, and is hoping to do much better in the second-leg.
The former Cagliari boss admitted to his team’s weaknesses on set plays, and insists that they must focus on eliminating their mistakes from free-kicks.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, Allegri said:
“I think the President is right, in that at times we played very well and in the first half used up a lot of energy. We defended in a very organised fashion. We must be happy with the result, especially as we have two out of three
results open to us in the second leg.”
