Massimiliano Allegri rejects Cassano-Montolivo swap talks: Serie A news
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has once again confirmed that striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 will remain at the San Siro this summer.
Reports in the Italian media have linked the former Sampdoria striker in a swap deal with Fiorentina midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049. Cassano is believed to be concerned with the first team football he will get in the 2011/12 season.
Milan already have some world class strikers in their squad and it will be very difficult for the Italian international to break into the starting line-up ahead of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robinho-c31382.
Several clubs including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Fiorentina have enquired about the availability of the striker but he wants to remain at the San Siro. Montolivo is unhappy at the Viola and has told the club that he wants to leave this summer.
The former Atlanta star has rejected an extension to his contract, which is due to expire at the end of the next season.
Reports emerged that Fiorentina manager, Siniša Mihajlović, wants to swap him with Cassano but Allegri has once again rejected the talks of striker leaving the club. The Milan tactician praised Montolivo as one of the best midfielders
in the country but ruled out a move for him.
Talking to the reporters Allegri said, “Absolutely not. Even if Montolivo has excellent quality and I believe is one of the best midfielders in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. I can categorically rule out this move, as there is zero chance. Cassano is
staying at Milan.”
Several former players and managers have suggested Milan to cash in on the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid striker, as he would create unrest in the dressing room if he is not provided with regular first team football. The 29-year-old has a
history of breaching the code of conduct at his previous clubs and has received playing ban several times.
Cassano joined the Rossoneri in the January transfer window of last season and played a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitalô-c40903 role in helping Milan to reclaim the Scudetto after seven years. Despite the fact, he did not score as many goals as one would expect
from a striker, he made his presence felt on the pitch.
