Massimiliano Allegri shortlists Aquilani as second choice to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049: Serie A news
Reports in the Italian media have claimed that A.C Milan have shortlisted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313, as their second chance to Fiorentina midfielder, Riccardo Montolivo.
It is believed that Massimiliano Allegri is interested in signing Montolivo and he is the mystery Mr. X identified by the club Vice-President, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani. The Rossoneri have been linked with several names including Cesc Fabregas
of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 but the Italian Champions have declined the rumours linking both of them.
Montolivo is unhappy at Fiorentina and has rejected an extension to his contract, which is due to expire at the end of the next season. The Viola outfit have stated their desire to keep hold of their prized asset and are willing
to let him leave on a free transfer next season. On the other hand, a Milan insider has revealed that Allegri is hoping to complete the signing of the 26-year-old but if he fails to sign him, then he will turn his attention to Aquilani.
Talking to the reporters the source said, "Regarding Milan's interest in Aquilani, there was a phone call between Adriano Galliani and the player's agent http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-c14050 Zavaglia. Galliani told the agent Milan like Aquilani and feel he
is a good player, but said he doesn't fit in with Massimiliano Allegri's technical project for the squad for next season.”
"Thus Aquilani is not seen as being a player who would suit the plans, more likely as an alternative [to Montolivo]."
The Liverpool midfielder is in market for a summer move and would fit the bill perfectly at San Siro. Galliani has also admitted in his previous interviews that the former A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 midfielder is on their radar and they might sign
him in the summer. The 27-year-old has everything that the Rossoneri are looking for in their transfer target and he can be a like to like replacement for Andrea Pirlo.
Fiorentina have also shown their interest in Aquilani and all the possibilities are dependent on each other.
