A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is delighted with his team’s performances in 2011, and is hoping for more from them next year.
Milan reclaimed the Scudetto after seven years in the 2010/11 season, and are on course to defend their crown in the ongoing campaign. The tactician admitted that his side has played some quality football throughout the year, and
they are always looking for improvement.
The 44-year-old expressed his disappointment at Antonio Cassano’s illness, and admitted that his absence has been a big blow to the team. Allegri insisted that since joining the Rossoneri earlier this year, Cassano has improved
a lot in terms of physical and technical abilities.
“We miss him so much, I think that with Milan he has been at the best of his career both technically and physically.”
The former Real Madrid star suffered an ischemic stroke few weeks back, and had to undergo a heart surgery. The 29-year-old has been ruled out of action for at least six months.
Moving onto Filippo Inzaghi, the former Cagliari boss feels sorry for the veteran striker, as he is forced to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window. Allegri admitted that Inzaghi has been a legendary figure at
Milan, but he lacks fitness to play for the Italian Champions.
“I’m sorry for [Filippo] Inzaghi, who has made history with Milan, he has great enthusiasm but I have to make decisions. For some time he has not trained with the first team and I cannot take him into consideration, he has not
been available.”
Allegri also heaped praise on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his impressive performances so far this season. The Swede has once again been the main performer for the Rossoneri, and has scored 11 goals for the Champions thus far.
“[Zlatan] Ibrahimovic is doing great things, like last year. He was also determined at Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.”
Finally, Allegri insisted that he desperately wants to see Aleixandre Pato fit for the remainder of the season.
