AC Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is confident that his team can overturn the 2-1 deficit from the first-leg to advance to the final of Coppa Italia.
The Rossoneri will travel to Juventus Stadium to take on Antonio Conte’s men in the second-leg of the semi-final of Italian Cup on Tuesday, 20 March. The first-leg at San Siro was convincingly won by the Old Lady, as Martin Caceres’
brace gave them a strong advantage.
Allegri admits that it will be difficult to overturn the deficit, but he has faith in his team that they will go on and play their best game. Despite the return of few players from injury, Milan have been dealt with some fresh
blows, as Mark Van Bommel and Robinho have been sidelined from the game.
While talking to the reporters, Allegri said:
“We’ll look to overturn the deficit in order to reach the Final even if we know it will be tough. I’m calm and convinced that we’ll play a good game despite the absences that we will have. Philippe Mexes will be back after suspension,
while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148 won’t be there.”
With some important fixtures coming up in a week’s time, Allegri is struggling to rotate his squad due to lack of options available at his disposal. The former Cagliari tactician insisted that he will field a strong team which
can defeat Juventus.
The 44-year-old rejected talks of Coppa Italia being the least important of Milan’s trophy targets of the season, and insisted that they are hungry to lift the Italian Cup.
“We’ll have to see tomorrow whether he plays or not. I will certainly pick a side that will be good enough to take on Juventus. The Coppa Italia is a target for us.”
The Italian Champions have not enjoyed the best of forms playing against Juventus, as they have failed to win in the three head to head games played this season.
