Massimiliano Allegri has welcomed the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-c9491 Zapata at AC Milan, and remains hopeful that the last twenty days of the summer transfer window will see more players arrive at the club.
The Rossoneri have recently struck a deal with Villarreal to allow the Columbian international to move to the Milan outfit on a loan-deal.
The Milanello have recently sold two of their best players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 along with losing several of their veterans at the end of the 2011-12 season, and the head coach is hopeful that more reinforcements will arrive at the club for
their next campaign.
Allegri expressed his happiness at the arrival of Zapata, and revealed that the defender is someone who was included in the club’s list of transfer targets for the summer.
The Rossoneri manager stated that the Villarreal-owned player has the ability to play in the flanks as well in the central defence, and insisted that the Columbian talent should be enough to meet their defensive requirements for the upcoming season.
However, the Diavolo chief was adamant that there is still need for new players in departments other than the defence, and was hopeful that the closing days of the transfer window will see more players arrive at the Italian giants.
While talking to Milan’s official Channel, the head-coach of the Milan outfit said:
"I welcome the arrival of Zapata. Cristian is one of those players who were on the list of potential acquisitions. He is a player that I had already met in 2006 when I was called by Udinese. Zapata will be able to play in the centre of defence or in the
flanks. With him, we are set in defence. We'll see for the rest of the departments. There is still 20 days left before the market closes."
When asked about Kaka, Allegri hinted that the move has little chance of materialising anytime soon.
"On Kaka, I can say that currently there is no big news." He added.
