The Juventus boss has quashed any suggestions that the Danish international will not be able to help Juve reach the heights they are or should be dreaming of.
While caught up in the euphoria of winning their first Scudetto after 2006, the only problem in the otherwise flawless Juventus outfit seemed the fact that they did not have a natural proven goal scorer in their side. This problem was identified and after
the club lifted the Scudetto; Beppe Marotta moved to assure their fans that they would be looking to sign a striker, one that is proven and a prolific goal scorer.
And during the course of the transfer window there seemed to be an indication of the intent of the club as they seemed keen on landing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955, one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe last season, with 33 goals to his name in the past season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 rebuffed all overtures from the Old Lady and made their message clear that they did not harbour any thoughts of parting ways with their Uruguayan sharp shooter.
Subsequently, the club was also keeping tabs on the Dutch international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, who had stated that he would not be extending his contract at the club. However, the club was unable to reach an agreement with the club and the player over the move,
and the then http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 striker signed on for bitter rivals, Manchester United.
Nothing came off the rumours linking http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726 from Arsenal on a loan deal. Massimo Carrera went on to state that there are still tests that need to be undertaken and remarked:
“We will settle him in slowly. He still needs to do some tests so we can ascertain his fitness levels. We will also make the most of the break for international duty and his ban to work with him in training.”
Many have questioned the signature of the player, to which Carrera responded:
“He does fit our requirements for a striker, even if due to the financial crisis we were unable to buy the players who we tracked for a long time. We need humility and desire to work. We can and must improve.”
Bendtner has been signed with an option to buy after the conclusion of this season.
