The stand in tactician of the Bianconeri has remarked that he will be looking for an improved performance in their next UEFA Champions League encounter.
Given that their game against Shakhtar Donetsk was at the Juventus Stadium, it was expected that the Turin outfit would manage to secure a victory in the match. There was much hype surrounding the match, particularly as this was the first match since 2009-10
season that was being played at the Juventus Stadium.
Fans were expecting a victory, given the performance of the Turin outfit gave in their last match against AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. The Turin side were 4-1 victors on the night and did not give the Giallorossi much room to find a way back into the match.
Such a commanding display raised the expectations of many players, fans and former managers; and they were expecting more of the same when the Bianconeri outfit welcomed the side from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032. However, that was not the case on the night, and it turned out
to be a weird, confused and a performance which lacked any real conviction.
They were pegged back by the Ukrainian outfit in the beginning and went a goal down as well, so it was far from being rosy for the Bianconeri outfit and had to work hard to find a way back into the match. The performance has left a sour taste in the mouth
of Carrera who has remarked that he realised the players were tired during the match.
That has been the general consensus, with many pundits and players stating that the team needs to rest and rotate players, as some of them are not used to the rigours of fighting on all fronts.
Carrera went on to comment:
“We went out on to the field a little timid. We knew it was a difficult opponent, even if people said it would be easy. We were tense, conceded a goal and did well to get straight back on level terms.”
An interesting statistic has come about after their recent draw against the Ukrainian side, and Juventus have become the first team to draw eight matches on the trot in Champions League.
