Meregalli shared some views with media to as running his first season with Yamaha MotoGP team. He feels it is totally a different experience, as a factory project being more important and high profile many people are involved in it. Practically working
in the garage is a thing same to his previous experience but as being in the paddock means a lot.
As Meregalli used to share and discuss information with other competitors in World Superbike but here in MotoGP he is new n the block and need to get familiar with his competitors.
Meregalli is feeling pure pleasure to work with the two most talented riders of the MotoGP grid. He feels good about both the riders and sees forward to get more familiar with them, as he already knows Ben Spies from the World Superbike team, where
Meregalli was team manager and Spies won championship in his rookie year under Meregalli’ supervision.
He also feels that, Spies has improved a lot during past two years. He also trying to know Jorge Lorenzo personally and already feels that, Lorenzo is a nice person and professional being fast on track.
He felt that being an ex-rider does not add in value of the role of a team director. But he also feels that rider is the key person of the team and requires all the things for his encouragement to perform out of the box.
Being the Team Director his job covers each and every aspect of the team requires working, displaying, and performing. In office he is focused to look over logistic needs and even preparing graphics for the team design for bikes, trucks to the pit
garages. When he moves to the garage area he looks after Ben Spies’ crew and keeps focus on the things required, whereas, Zeelenberg the team manager is the man to supervise the Lorenzo’s garage area.
