The Nerazzurri President has confirmed negotiations with Palermo for Matias Silvestre, and has stressed that he has no regrets about losing Sebastian Giovinco to Juventus.
Massimo Moratti has revealed that Inter Milan are in negotiations for attaining the ownership of Mattia Destro and Matias Silvestre, in an effort to improve their strength for the next season.
The Italian businessman made personal contact with Genoa President Enrico Preziosi to discuss business on several players, and also talked about other issues.
Moratti admitted his interest in acquiring the services of Destro, and stated that the striker is included in their shopping list for the summer transfer window.
When asked about Genoa’s President’s statement that Inter Milan are not interested in the Rossoblu forward, the Nerazzurri chief smiled and reiterated his interest in the budding star.
While talking to the press, the 67-year-old said:
“Preziosi says we are not interested in Destro? If he says so...Destro is strong and we like him, just as we like other players.”
Moratti then diverted his attention to other transfer moves in the ongoing transfer window for the Milan outfit.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan chief admitted that he is also interested in getting hold of Silvestre, and will have meetings with Palermo to get closer to signing a deal for the centre-back.
“I can confirm there will be another meeting to understand the Silvestre situation better.”
The Argentinean has also been linked with a move from rivals AC Milan.
The Nerazzurri were also in the contention for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724, a striker co-owned by Juventus and Parma.
However, the Milan outfit will have to give up their quest for the Formica Atomica, after the Bianconeri have announced their intent to bring the goalscorer back to Turin, and buy the remaining 50 percent of his contract back from the Crusaders.
Moratti insisted that he has no regrets about not getting his hands on the talented goalscorer, and shrugged that the player went the way he had to go.
Inter Milan’s activity in the summer transfer window has been motivated by their desire to bring the Italian giants back to the top of Serie A, after a dismal season that saw them finish their campaign at 6th spot.
