The Nerazzurri fans have jeered the former AS Roma boss in their previous matches at San Siro, but Moratti is behind the veteran tactician. The Patron has denied rumours of AVB replacing Ranieri at Inter, and stated that he is
willing to give the tactician some time to prove his worth.
While talking to the reporters, Moratti said:
“These are just rumours, absolutely. I saw parts of the Catania game. My mood was disastrous during the worst part of the match, when we were losing, then I have to say it was very important to have that fight back and show of
character, while there were also improvements in the football. This can count for a great deal in certain terms, as it gives us a wake-up call.”
The 66-year-old also landed support to veteran midfielder, Esteban Cambiasso, after the Argentine was abused by the San Siro fans against Catania recently. The playmaker broke into tears and was upset with the treatment from the
fans.
Moratti insisted that Cambiasso is a strong man, and he will bounce back strongly from this incident.
“I don’t think Cambiasso is even remotely offended for himself, he was just sincerely upset at the situation in that moment. Cambiasso has a strong character and doesn’t suffer these things.”
