The Inter Milan President has insisted that he has not spoken to manager Claudio Ranieri after their embarrassment at the hands of the Giallorossi.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of AS Roma at Satdio Olimpico, Rome, on Sunday, February 5. La Beneamata players seemed out of sorts during the match and had no real conviction in their attack.
Moratti reserved his feelings while discussing the match, saying that he is yet to discuss the defeat with Ranieri. However, the Inter President’s displeasure at the result was clearly evident when he stated:
“Our last match wasn’t a match, therefore I’d prefer to not give a footballing judgement – otherwise it would be very critical.”
The 66-year old tried to curtail his displeasure by insisting that there is still a long way to go until the end of the season. However, the Nerazzurri President insisted that the team will bounce back strongly after the defeat.
“Some people have to realise that the championship is not finished yet and it would be a good idea to give their soul to this shirt, because we have to do a lot better.”
Moratti took heart from results elsewhere on Sunday, and was keen not to discuss their match against the Giallorossi, with a sound reasoning that the standings were not affected after the week.
“Juventus and Milan didn’t win so it would have been even worse had they collected victories. Let’s just be content with that.”
There were only a handful of matches this Sunday where goals were scored. Other title contenders, Udinese, A.C Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 also dropped points in their respective league games over the weekend.
Juventus lead the table with Inter currently nine points behind them in the 5th spot. The race for the Scudetto is still wide open, with only a few points separating the top six positions.
The Nerazzurri will face Novara in their next league game at San Siro on Sunday, February 12. The bottom placed side got the better of the Nerazzurri in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
