Massimo Moratti no longer Inter-ested in Rafa Benitez
It had been reported over the course of the last couple of weeks that Inter Milan’s manager, Rafael Benitez was soon going to be shown the door at the San Siro. Benitez’s manager was reported to have had a series of discussions
about his client’s future at the club during the course of these weeks; however, it seems like those talks were to no avail as the manager has now been shown the door by the Italian Champions. It appears as though the manager has left the team on mutual consent
and he was not sacked.
Over the course of the last forty-eight hours, there were strong speculations that he was going to be leaving his post, after stating that the team’s board could either ‘back me or sack me.’ However, it seems like Massimo Moratti
has disregarded the fact that Inter just won the Club World Cup and has decided to part ways with the manager, in hopes of reviving Inter’s season.
Statements on the Inter Milan website are quoted to have said,
"FC Internazionale and Rafael Benitez have reached a satisfactory consensus and agreed to the early termination of their relationship"
"Inter thanked Rafael Benitez for his work in leading the team which experienced success in the Italian Supercup and FIFA Club World Cup.
"Rafael Benitez thanked Inter for the important professional experience (of being in charge) and for their victories together."
Inter Milan are currently sitting in the seventh position in the Italian league and this is after the team went on to land the glorious treble last term. The team has managed to put on a hard struggle in the Champions League and
despite having gone in as tournament favourites, have now managed to become one of the least favourites to win the tournament.
Prior to Benitez coming into Inter Milan, it was largely rumoured that it would be impossible for him or any manager to fill in the shoes that Jose Mourinho had left behind at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 and as a result of the course of recent events
those rumours have been proven to be right.
