Massimo Moratti respects the decision made by the FIGC

The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan Chief Executive was adamant that there was no other decision that would have made sense besides the one made by the Calcio authorities.
The FIGC was quick to call of all the Serie A matches following the tragic death of Livorno’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Piermario-Morosini-c29986. The decision came in minutes before the start of the match
between AC Milan and Genoa. Following their decision all the matchday 33 fixtures of the Serie A were postponed, however a decision on the rescheduling of the matches has been made.
The matches will be played after the matchday 34 fixtures of the Serie A are played this coming weekend. The matches were postponed after the Livorno midfielder collapsed
on the field of play during their match against Pescara in the Serie B.
The Nerazzurri boss commented on the decision to postpone the matches till further notice, by stating:
“It was an obvious choice not to play. To not play was the only decision that could be made because the situation was serious. It gave the right signal and that is how you
respond to pain. It was terrible.”
Morosini, was sent on loan to Livorno from Udinese, and the Nerazzurri were playing against Udinese in the week 33 clash of the Serie A. Upon hearing of the death of their
player, the Bianconeri had asked for their game against the Beneamata to be postponed before the announcement by the Calcio authorities.
Moratti stated that the Nerazzurri players were shell shocked after hearing about the news, so it was obvious that the Zebrette players would be distraught. He commented:
“Our players were distraught, so it was inevitable that so too would Udinese’s. We are talking about one of their teammates, they knew him well. It was a serious situation,
a horrible one and football understood it. They understood it abroad too.”
There have been reports suggesting that there were a lot of clubs who were not happy with the decision of postponing the matches. However, the oil baron suggested that there
was no need to spark any controversy at this moment in time as the situation was still fresh and sensitive.
